Why this corner of California?
Julian brings several kinds of day together: a historic town, a food stop and mountain landscapes close enough to shape the same short break. We help readers choose among them without making every outing into a crowded itinerary.
The publication and the former lodging name
This website is a travel guide, not a bed-and-breakfast operator. It does not represent a former lodging business, take room bookings or provide accommodation services. The acquired domain is now used for an editorial publication with a geographic focus on Julian.
How we put guides together
The Butterfield Getaways editorial team uses official park, visitor, heritage and operator sources. Each guide includes references and a review date. Suggested days are editorial plans, not claims that a named writer has personally visited or tested every place. We do not invent author identities, ratings or testimonials.
Useful beyond one season
We separate enduring planning advice from changing details such as crops, access and reservations. Where an answer depends on the day of travel, the guide points to the responsible provider. A review date records when sources were checked; it does not mean the site monitors every subsequent change automatically.
Photographs and links
We use real photographs with recorded reuse terms. They may show an earlier year or a different season. Credits are collected on the privacy and photo-credit page. Links are chosen for the information they add to a guide. External sites have their own policies and current operating arrangements.
